Matt  Church is an internationally recognized painter living and working in the Netherlands. Eschewing the safety and solitude of the atelier, he works primarily outdoors, painting from life. 

Moving subjects, shifting light, and changing weather instill his paintings with movement and vibrancy. Utilizing a simple palette of classical pigments allows him to quickly render essential elements without the hollow drama of synthetic chroma.

From below sea level on the streets of Amsterdam to the highest peaks of the Himalaya and everywhere in between, Mr. Church's oil paintings are characterized by strong composition, a focus on form and line, and expressive work with both brush and palette knife.
